GOLF CLUB NEWS – Shoalhaven Heads

20th April 2018, Stableford
MYSTERY PARTNERS

1st Place : Gary Pearse & Tim Connell
“EIGHTY FIVE 85 Points”

2nd Place : Vasko Bozevski & Brian Constable 76 Points
3rd Place : Brian Hastie & Eric “EGGS” Strachan 70 Points

SCUTTLEBUT: Just 27 Members made the Trek to the beautiful Shoalhaven Heads to a lush course and Weather just fine for The Great Game of GOLF. Many thanks to Brian Hastie and Navigator Pam, for a pleasant drive down in The Warilla Bus with good numbers, but a few more would be welcome to save their Petrol Dollars and receive Free Entertainment from Reggie and The LITTLE Family on the return trip is always!! In the absence of Bruce Michie and Wozza (we miss you), Brian Hastie and Pam did double duty on the BBQ and did a magnificent job. Pretty handy on the Course too, our Brian taking 3rd Place with the Mystery Partners Event in partnership with the consistent Mr Strachan, cracking 70 Points between them.

**** Many Congratulations to our Winners on the Day, Gary Pearse and young Tim Connell, with a combo of 85 Points, very impressive!! Great to see Gary back, fit and well after a Health Scare that put a bit of a dampener on his recent trip to The Hawaiian Islands. Having had a syncopic episode not long ago, I know it can be a bit scary, but when so many things are checked out at the same time, it can have its benefits for one’s long term health. Anyhow Gary, good to see your smiling face back amongst the Boys. This also highlights the need to let me or Sid know if someone in the Club is having a rough trot or is confined at home and might appreciate a phone call or visit: something to keep in mind in light of the loss of a few Members in recent years.

***** Congrats also to Vasko Bozevski and Handicapper Brian Constable who combined to take 2nd Place with 76 points, and after some self confessed ordinary scores, it was good to see Brian as the Main Contributor to their success. Seems like we will need Builder’s Tape measures shortly with some very LENGTHY Nearest the Pins (e.g. Mitchell & Sawers)… having said that I think I have made a BLUE above and big hitting Vic Clemente’ actually was 32 cms from the Cup, earning him The Eagles Nest!! Kenny Payne will confirm that!! Love to know how long it has been since VIC actually parted with some Johnny Cash for HIS BALLS….. there’s a “line” here somewhere and I am not going any further with it?????
