Pennant season is fast approaching and we have entered 7 grades this year - 1, 2, 4, 5, 5, 6, & 7. Warilla have had a fantastic record over the years in pennants and I can’t see any reason why we can’t keep this record going with the calibre of the players we have throughout our grades and make up for the two grand final defeats last year. Warilla will be hosting the finals series so this is an added incentive to perform well. The Club Championships have started and the fours and triples championships have reached the final stages. The four of Ashley Noronha, John Delahunty, Jesse Noronha & Aaron Teys will play Andrew Johnston, Charlie Grech, Glen Bryant & Jeremy Henry and the triples final between the Glens (Stuart, Sammy & Robbie) and Aaron Spears, Scott Kicks & Geoff McGillivray. These finals will take place on Saturday 4th February at 1pm. All supporters welcome.
Ladies Bowling News
Welcome back everyone :-) Well here we go again another year of fun and great bowls ahead. Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th and our Versatility 4's Carnival started the year for us. The games were played on all 3 surfaces...grass...synthetic and on the indoor which was a nice change and a challenge for all. Weather was extremely hot both days and the lucky ones drew the indoor rinks for their afternoon matches. Congratulations go to Barbara O'Donnell, Jessie Taylor, Dot Delatorre, and Maureen Murphy for taking second place with their 4 wins plus 46. Top prize going to a composite team from out of town. District Competition started off with Minor Singles and congratulations go to Sandra Busby. A first timer in this event.... she played her way through to the final but was unluckily beaten on the day. Well done Sandra ...next year its yours :-) Tuesday 24th social bowls commenced for 2012 and the first round of the Major Singles Championship was played. Good luck to the ladies participating in this event. Don't forget Friendship Day on the 14th - get your names down on the list in the locker room....come along and enjoy the day.
